dont need to cards to do whatever it is you are talking about. any 1 card can do it properly on nvidia.

eyefininity dosnt have the settings. in fact you dont even know what i was talking about when i brought it up in your topic. proof of your nvidia ignorance really, as its a standard common setting on nvidia.
something amd cannot do. (no, eyefinity is something completely different)

that missing setting is what put me off of amd forever. i wasnt so favored either way till then. you were just giving blank stares as i tried to explain what it did. amd just isnt up the the task.

What do I do? Can this Vaio keep up with the tasks of running high demanding games/programs smoothly? I'm not looking for some kind of super-computer here, just something that doesn't lag when I play my games mentioned in the OP

Like I've said, and numerous other people on page 1 said, this is overpriced. Get something like I mentioned that is more powerful for the price. Or that Asus you were looking at.

64 Bit Processor
Intel Core i7 or i5
Num Pad
nVIDIA Graphics card
Back-lit Keyboard

Plus I found one of these in-store so I got to try it out. I never but any laptop without trying it out first, so don't link me to some random NewEgg laptop, I need to be able to try it out before I purchase it

But the question still remains, would it be able to run Blockland and Minecraft at full settings as well as Garry's mod and other games mentioned in the OP?

But I don't get it... My brother owns a Macbook Pro, which if I remember correctly: It uses a dual core processor and it runs many games at full settings with no lag WHATSOEVER.

This laptop here that is in question is using an Intel Core i7 with QUAD core processor, and your saying it can't even run Minecraft at lowest settings? I think you've got it all backwards?

It would be very nice if everything got cleared up, because Bisjac seems to own one of these Vaio F Series, and apparently it is amazing, but you are saying otherwise.

If you have an 8-core processor but it can only go to 1.1 ghz does it mean it's good :)

2. What one are we talking about? The one in OP is a dual core. What one has the i7 that you are talking about?

3. The graphics card here is the weak point. That's what renders the games.

2. That's not the one in OP. It's got a better CPU than the one I have been talking about but the GPU is still weak.

3. nVidia is just the brand that makes GPUs. There are other brands, most notably AMD (ATI) and Intel makes some. nVidia makes high end chips, low end chips, and has since day dot. The 520m is a low end chip from them, and not suited for gaming.
But, AMD also makes high end chips, low end chips and has for a long time too. So saying a card is powerful based just solely on the brand is a no no. It comes down to the model.
