Have steam closed (durr)
Delete everything in that folder other than the folder steammaps and Steam.exe.
Open Steam.exe.
Did it work?

estimated time for me to reinstall steam = 2 months

that's how slow my internet is in australia, plus the addons that i will never be able to find for all my games that i've had since 2009-10-11

also why are you calling me a 'blind forget' when you are the one who has minimal information on the situation and does not have any idea of a good solution

what kind of knowledge do you think he's supposed to have?
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and the fact that your installation of Steam being broken is not going to give him enough information for whatever you're expecting him to realize
if you do not provide information, it can not be expected of someone to use the information they do not know to come up with a proper solution

I'm quite sure you can do a Move on the steamapps folder, and it would not actually move all the data. Just tell it it's in another location. Much faster than copying it all to another space.
