I remember getting this a lot on my old Windows 98 for various reasons.... Ahhh My first comptuer... :)
But, I still sometimes get it on my Windows 7 laptop because it cannot handel a simple youtube video. It crashes and says (Dumping Memory To Disk) and plays a very annoying high pitched screeching noise. Scares the forget outa me especially when I'm whereing headphones.
That noise could be the buzzer inside the computer on the motherboard.

lol@the first 10 posters thinking a blue screen means its likely your comp could be fried. when thats not even close to true.

BSODs are operator errors.

usually always, blue screens are hardware errors. if it was anything else, windows recovers the desktop and drivers, and just crashes the program instead

I don't get it anymore.

Oh I get those all the time, in fact I get them so much it broke half the games on my computer. Its really helped me get back into doing my homework.

The BSoD is a good thing. If it didn't exist your computer would just spiral madly out of control whenever it had a hardware problem and you computer actually would break.

Yeah, sometimes BSoD can help. "To prevent damage to your computer." - In the first lines.

Blue screens aren't supposed to break your games. They're just error screens.

Or have I been lied to all my life?

if the game is loading/saving it can mess up the files but it will not break a game

This is the Windows 8 Blue screen:

:D
d'aawww, that's pretty cu-
I'd like to see one that replaces the frowney face with "WELL stuff"
pfft
that would be brilliant

My sister used to get blue screens a lot on her old computer, but that thing was so screwed up it wasn't even funny. She couldn't even run a 3D game without it blue screening. The last blue screen it ever got was when she was hosting a Terraria server for me. After that one, it was thrown into a loop of automatic restarts until we shut it off.

Flash player occasionally causes this for me.
