Tony, it's my belief that the candidates who receive 0 votes after a day or two should be removed from the poll. It's more reasonable to work down the number of options. After a day or two, if the OP isn't stupid, the people with no votes will be removed.

The point in having so many people in the first place is to offer a wide range of possibilities and opportunities for the community to decide who deserves the votes.
