Author Topic: .Rec files?  (Read 3446 times)

Is there some way to convert .rec files to something readable? Like a WMV?

nope. They are pretty much useless.

After having a lot of .rec files, you could use a screen recording device to convert them. It helps, because there's less lag than having certain programs open, but you must remeber to turn off GUIs - I think they get recorded too.

Is there a free program you could suggest then?

You could get Fraps for free, but it watermarks the video.

And it's .30 min limit.

Not meaning to hijack your thread but...

I use FRAPS for my films in BL. Does anyone know of an alternative that doesnt watermark the footage and is free?

How do you film with it? The time limit sux.

Well, 30 seconds isnt bad. If you watch real movies most clips don't last longer than 30 secs. Why? boredom.

Thats one of the reasons why many blockland movies (specially all these stunt ones). They a minute long clip of a guy tumbling down slopes. Oh..and they play some punk-rock music in the background that doesn't match the theme.

Music says : I lost my girlfriend...stupid mistakes...come back to me...blah blah blah
Poorly recorded video says : Hey look, I recorded my buddy in blockland wipeing out down a mountain side.

Woops...got off on a rant.

I reccomend buying Fraps, but my favorite free screen recorder is Vidshot Capturer, its pretty lagless, you can choose whether to record the whole screen, a set reigon or a certain window, and the recording quality is good.

Thanks, that program is much better.

Ok, I think I might use fraps, I'll just edit them together.

Use the thing Vertical Posted, theres no time limit or watermark.

Ok, I think I was having problems with that. I'll try it agen. I've tested so many..... 0_o
