Author Topic: Short Story  (Read 2029 times)

So, this is my short story I began writing in Creative Writing for a class assignment. It began with a Minecraft theme, but I removed some of the wording that makes it obvious, and made it more general low-fantasy. Tell me what you think.

THE GOOGLE DOCS LINK

Yes, you can comment, I expect plenty of stuffposts, but try and keep it civil, at least. It was too long to post the full story in, anyways.

EDITEDIT: Ok, I expect ANY posts, maybe, ever.

Excellent.
Really embodies Minecraft.

Everyone deserves at least a cursory skimming.

I'd really appreciate any feedback, literally anything. :I!

chapter 10 was best

Really good story, you should write a book sometime.

I've been told that, but if I did, it would be the most emotionally detached story ever, I've always been terrible at anything other than descriptors and events. And I'm still working on it, tyvm.

Is it coming up with a plot that you have trouble with, or stretching the plot out in an interesting way? I don't write nearly enough, but I'm still okay.

neither, it's emotional development. you need a dry, full length description of a stick that takes up a page, i'm your man, but if you have to care about said stick, i can't do it.

Huh.

I've never had a problem with that, but I tend to just showcase characters pretty quickly. Also, I tend to base the characters heavily on myself, which is a problem, but it allows me to think in the character's shoes more easily, and if you know what the character does, you can figure out what they're thinking, and if you know their thoughts, you usually care a bit about them.

"the stick was completely petrified of being burned alive."
:)!

Sticks generally aren't main characters, so you're good.

"Approved Recommended?" lol
