Terrain still needs work. Cubescaping isn't really that hard, give it a try

I might cubescape, because I guess people don't like fractal building.  It might get annoying, though, for Real-estate purposes.

how long did that take you?

I think i have been working on the building part since the beggining of January, but only the weekends.  I used some of the City functions, like real-estate, from my first City RPG, but I still had to make some newer functions, like Jobs, Time, etc...





That terrain could use some work. Try to use some variations, and do not repeat the same pattern over and over. It just doesn't look realistic. At all.

i hate how the corners of everything are the same. like if you make a pattern like this
          [ ]
       [ ][][ ]
    [ ][][ ][][ ]
       [ ][][ ]
          [ ]
it will look like a diamond like

    /\
    \/

I said I was going to change it in a previous post.  Also, had you read more into the post I posted, you would have seen that I was trying a new style, Fractal building, but, unfortunately, it is unfavorable among the prolitariat.

That's why I did more of a

      [  ][  ]

      [  ][  ]

kind of pattern, this diagram is a small version that does not represent the top view pattern-if that is what you are talking about.

The "pattern" I was trying to instigate was Fractal, which is a math term, where a set image is repeated an infinite number of times

this is a good example of a Fractal pattern.

on the first pic of the residential island you can see my glass & steel hotel...i just quit building.

Naw, I'm just having a little trouble with the over-arching time system for the game.

the eventing sounds interestng,  i've tried making a kind of rpg map with VCE events with a chat system that teleported you into a different room with chat options. the building looks very plain and bland though. i'd go for more closed feeling with more design and definitely more foliage.

I redid the terrain with cubescaping.  The pictures you see are of the mounds I made to simply test a building style and to make a form for the islands.
