Turntable is a great site for sharing music. It's a pretty simple concept. People join a room, a stand of 5 people can be DJ'ing. They can search through a large database of music or upload their own and put together a playlist. Songs are played in turn, so once you go, the guy DJ'ing next to you goes, and so on.
There's a feature to vote up music, or vote it down. If a song gets enough votes down, it's skipped and the next DJ gets to play.
It's a lot of fun, and I think you guys will have fun with it. I've created a Blockland room, so come check it out and play some music! It's private, so only Blocklanders can find it and use it from right here, on the original Turntable topic for Blockland.
ANY GENRE IS ACCEPTABLE. DO NOT SKIP A SONG SIMPLY BECAUSE IT IS METAL OR SOME GENRE YOU DON'T LIKE. It's not okay to play 40 dubstep songs, and then come upon one metal song and skip it in the first 10 seconds. It's unacceptable behavior for a room that allows all genres of music to play. Don't get the douchey idea that your music tastes are far superior, and therefore another genre shouldn't get to play. Want a dubstep only room? MAKE ONE. I would add it to the list. We already have a metal only room, but the main room is for ALL GENRES. I REPEAT. ALL GENRES.
Main Room - Private
Rock/Metal Only - Public
Electronic Only - Private
Indie Only - Public
Prometheus EDM (dubstep/electronic only) - Public
Vietnam Era Counter-culture Only - PrivateRoom Rules- Be respectful of other musical opinions. This means no bashing an artist simply because of a bias. Give the song a chance, and if a majority of the room doesn't want to hear it, it can be skipped.
- Allow a song to play for at least 30-45 seconds. Breaking this rule gets you booted.
- This room isn't for hogging the scene, and voting down music just to get your song played faster. Wait your turn, and listen to what people have to play. This relates to the previous rule.
