Author Topic: What's up with my friend's computer?  (Read 887 times)

This is my friend's computer, and Skyrim runs slow as forget. Just starting the game takes ten minutes because the opening screen/"BETHESDA STUDIOS PRESENTS" intro is so laggy.
3.00 GB of RAM
AMD Athlon 7550 Dual-Core 2.50 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

What's wrong?

BUMP FOR GREAT JUSTICE

maybe his computer has a virus or something, here are the recommended system requirements if it helps.

Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
Memory: 4GB System RAM
Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher)

when i tried skyrim on my pc, it ran at 1 fps.
D:

the video card seems a bit low end for skyrim and 3gb of ram could have some issues as skyrim does take quite a bit of ram usage
processor should be fine though

that GPU is low-end for anything that isn't Source

Because his specs suck.
First gen Athlon Dual Core, only 2.5GHz
Integrated graphics

When I tried it on my XBOX it ran very smoothly.
Consoles are no longer INFERIOR.
*Prepares to get face bashed in

Drivers per chance?

consoles are better in their own way
if you don't have enough money to buy a computer that can run Skyrim, buying a $200-300 console can be a much better choice

I don't know, I have this odd liking for controllers in fighting games than a mouse.
Also big television screen.
And surround sound.

you can connect a surround sound system and large television to a computer
in fact, if you have a TV without AT LEAST a VGA port (but should also have an HDMI port), it's probably time to get a new one

I also prefer my dad being able to play skyrim without having to go through my huge research stashes on my pc.

if getting to your Skyrim shortcut requires having to sift through research folders, I think you need to get more organized
