Author Topic: Blockland running very slow on new PC  (Read 2623 times)

Hi. I just got a brand new Windows 7 Toshiba Satellite (Which was not cheap), and Blockland is running like i'm playing on a Windows 98 computer.  Any suggestions on how to get it running faster?

Could you post the specifications? (CPU make and model, amount of RAM installed, video controller)
All of these can be found in dxdiag (Take a screenshot of the general tab and the display tab

Not really all the data I wanted, because for my brother it says it's a Radeon HD 6000 series,

It's a Toshiba Satellite with 3 GB of RAM and a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family for my Video Card.

I'd have no clue.
Try updating your video drivers.

It's up to date, but you think it should run Blockland ok with 3GB RAM, and that video card?

It's an integrated graphics card, this usually means it is stuffty.

You could also tell us what the CPU is. (Or post your console.log)

CPU or console.log?
cpu: central processing unit (i think)
console.log: it's a log file that is generated everytime you open blockland, goto my documents/blockland and upload it here.

What's that Pecon?

Your graphics card sucks and is probably contributing to your lag. I'm guessing this "Brand new not-cheap computer" is some sort of mini laptop.

That video card is sufficient for running Blockland and plenty of other games, if you're lagging with lots of bricks, try turning down your draw distance / resolution.

No the laptop is actually huge.  The screen is about the size of my desktop screen. I got it running a little smoother by uninstalling McAfee Antivirus, but I still think it should run faster.

Update drivers.

Disable any processes you don't need.

Here are some tips.

1. Run Blockland in a window
2. Set the resolution to something like 800x600
3. You should still have an antivirus. MSE is a free, lightweight and effective antivirus you could try as an alternative to McAfee.
4. You can use some programs such as Ccleaner to disable startup processes. (Note: Be careful about not disabling processes you do want, such as the hotkey manager, your antivirus, and the sound/video controller(s))
