America is a referral for The United States of America.
North America is a Continent.
South America is a Continent.
America is not.
Case closed.

The continent is north america, not america. The country is not called the united states, it is called the united states OF america. There is no opinion, it is a fact.

Thats actually incorrect. Theyre the Americas. I dont think theres a single person out there who refers to South America as America.

i loving hate it when people refer to america instead of united states or USA

because seriously thats like saying you're the only ones that live in 'America'

and no tons of people live in North/South America.

it GRINDS MY GEAAAAAAAAAARS

Well actually, when they first named America they were referring to South America, because that's where they happened to land.
But still, the unified term for North and South America is the Americas

It's not America it's North America.
