chiptune music is boss.
It's one of the only types of music that happens to have great composition nowadays.
By composition you mean the way it all turns out? Like the way it is organized and set forth?
People are always saying chiptune is amazing and all that, but do they actually listen to it for the sake of listening to it?
I mean by where the notes and beats are placed. Most genres of music disregard this entirely and just have a lead that goes "DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUHHHH".
So the artists actually put time and effort into making it as it should, listening to it many times over and thinking "would it sound good with this here instead". I get it now.But it still takes some kind of weird 'skill' to produce dubstep, does it now? I mean, chiptunes-get your hands on an saw wave and your pretty much good to go. But for dubstep it's a different story. Thoughts?
I like to think that chiptunes are the modern equivalent of old piano concertos and orchestras. SO much more focus on composition rather than which sample you should use for some monotonous beat.
a tracker for chiptunes, haha
Agreed completely, but one piff still remains, 'is there still a market in chiptune?'I mean, is anyone actually going to go out and buy an album of some chiptune music? People (as in music-listeners) seem to buy dubstep/rock/techno physical cds/albums. When was the last time you've seen an 8-bit/chiptune album for sale at ANY music or cd store? I personally have seen zero.
Explain?
