Buying music?

Oh stuff, lol

My point exactly, peoples view on 8-bit music relies solely on youtubing "8-bit music" and listening to random chiptunes. Wheres the market?

in contrast to a sequencer where you can lay out the notes on a screen as a nice visualization, a tracker is a list of numbers/commands telling the program to make certain sounds at certain frequencies with certain effects

so it's like a game studio compared to programming something in C++

This seems very unneccessary? Would there ever be a difference in overall output and finished product if you use a tracker over a sequencer?

Chippers make a profit from being super awesome. The universe magically bestows free money upon them.

They're all popular DJ's. People pay for them to perform at whatever rave or party they want.

a sequencer is preferred because it's easier and quicker to create your music

a tracker is just hard to read

Wasnt there this one site that had LOADS of Chiptunes? Think it had 8bc in it's URL.

skrillex isn't dubstep
he's brostep/hard electro house
deadmau5 is progressive house

also, 8 bit led zeppelin is badass

The difference between a sequencer and a real tracker (eg famitracker) is like the difference between making a game with pixelated graphics in game maker, and making a real NES game in 6502 assembly. The previous one is easier, but it doesn't really require any effort, and usually ends up pretty characterless. The latter one is more difficult as you're confined to the hardware limitations, but it's so much more authentic.
I despise any chiptune music made in sequencers; infact, I even refuse to acknowledge it as chiptune.

You 'despise' them? Really? So if you hear a really sweet chiptune song and your totally groovin it and you read the description and it says: "Made in FL Studios", you automatically hate it? You automatically despise it?
