> Goes to the key and picks it up.
> Unlocks the chains on himself.
Wh... why did you? I... I never had someone that nice before.
I guess I don't need to worry anymore. I'm free. Free from all of my grievances. Thanks to, me? *laughs a bit*
> The room gradually turns white, eventually to the point where it blinds alex. The doctors voice can be heard.
Alex? Alex! Speak to me! ALEX!
> Opens my eyes, at first everything seems blurry, but after blinking a couple times, I can see the doctor.
Alex! You're alive!
Doctor White?
Yes it's me! Welcome back alex.
> I find out I'm back in the cell that I started in, but it's different, everything is brighter, less depressing. Two doctors standing by Dr. White, take a sigh of relief.
> I grip my head, feeling a pretty strong headache.
Don't worry alex, it's all over now. You're safe again.
Thank you... doctor.
Ending:
I had finally opened my eyes to reality...
I took the first baby steps to recovery, by defeating my grief and depression.
The doctor said I had psychosis, it drove me insane.
He went in after me and tried to make be believe him.
It worked, and it helped a lot.
I couldn't believe the doctor when he told me that he actually got inside my head.
Apparently he absorbed my nightmares when he went off into that abandoned wing of the Asylum.
He told me the story, all of it.
He said that I shouldn't really be thanking him too much,
for it was I who defeated my depression.
He just said he led me to the right path.
The guard that I saw, during my psychosis.
He was real.
But he's dead now.
I killed him, stabbed him dead.
*starts sobbing*
I don't forgive myself for that,
*sniffles*
but he's in a better place now.
*ceases crying*
I guess that's my story,
and I'm going to close the book,
and start a better one.
This experience has helped me,
and it has changed the doctors' views as well.
