Author Topic: Is This A Good Headset?  (Read 2715 times)

I'd recommend something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104281

edit: or buy a headset without a mic and then a separate mic

Nope
They work just the same

PC headsets are better for PC because they were made with PC in mind. anyone who buys a 360 headset to use it on a PC is a moron. if you use it for your 360 and a PC that makes more sense.

Wireless headsets get cross channel interference and it kills the sound quality. Go with AKG, Steel Series or if you don't want to buy it online, Logitech. Razer blows richard. Turtle beaches are pieces of stuff. Trittons are stuffty. Don't listen to the majority of the people in thos thread.

Note, this is coming from a hardcore audiophile.
Turtle beach are great headsets. I've had the same set for about two years and I've never had a problem with them.

USB headsets are stuff. Get a dedicated sound card and a wired headset.

You're a loving moron if you think Turtle Beach is good. Do you also use Skullcandy earbuds and think their bass is unsurpassable?

You want good sound, get some Sennheisers. Even a cheap pair will make you think your turtle beaches sound like stuff.

How are they bad? I have not had an issue with them other than little things breaking, but that's what the warranty is for.

I got a pair of X11s as a gift, and they had a constant hissing. I returned them for another pair, which had the same problem. They also felt cheap as stuff, with that crappy plastic that megabloks used to be made out of.

Like I said, try out some Sennheisers. They will sound way better than any turtle beach headset.

pretty sure the X11 hissing noise is a feature because mine do it too  :cookieMonster:

I have the exact same brand. They work well.

Get Sennheiser headphones, they're way better than everything else.

Well, the audio frequency on them is equal to that of a 25 dollar logitech headset, their cases are made out of China plastic and are incredibly unreliable. Their whole company is a scheme. They make a 30 dollar headset, slap a sticker on it, and put another 0 on the price tag.

Also, sennheisers are pretty stuffty to, while they may have good sound quality, their build is HORRID.

The headset I have has a volume nob so I can turn my computer volume all the way up and use the nob for volume, so I don't have that issue.
