Author Topic: Is This A Good Headset?  (Read 2822 times)

Also, sennheisers are pretty stuffty to, while they may have good sound quality, their build is HORRID.
I thought I just had big ears. The HD 202 headphones are my brothers favorite, but they always make my ears hurt.

Solution: get off your ass, take the speakers out of that stuff, but build your own custom headset tailored to your head, and put the speakers in it.

As for OP's headset, you should get the wired version. I have the tactic 3d sigma, and it sounds fine. Throw away that USB dongle adapter thing, though.

The headset I have has a volume nob so I can turn my computer volume all the way up and use the nob for volume, so I don't have that issue.

I'm glad you spent 150 on a volume controller for your computer.

That's just the way sennheiser makes their stuff. they use really cheap plastics so that they can save some money. Which is a decent tradeoff for good audio quality, but the 202s that i had failed the 3 foot drop test which is crucial for me because of my work.

I don't think they use cheap plastic, they just have bad earcup designs. The way the earcups stay on the main part that connects both is loving stupid, too. I've had that stuff pop off more times than I can remember.

Yes Sennheisers are cheap in there build, but try and beat dat sound

I hope you aren't really that stupid.

since Beachbum seems to know what he's talking about this is sort of directed at him but the rest of you are free to have an opinion

between this Logitech G35 headset, this SteelSeries 5H headset, and this AKG GHS 1 headset, which one has the best sound quality?

I'd personally go with Steelseries, as I had the 7H and has a tad more stuff, and it had wonderful sound.

he's right though. turtle beaches are really stuffty. wearing X11's right now and there's this loving hissing noise that I can stop if I turn the volume down to where I can't hear anything anymore.

sick of them. they blow so many richards.

I can't tell you exactly because I'm not at a computer and i cba to load those pages on my phone. But I'd defiantly rule out the g35 right away, I used it for a little while and I really didn't like it. I actually felt like I got better sound quality and durability out of a 45 dollar creative headset. The steelseries 5h is really nice, its comfortable, looks nice and is incredibly durable from the time I used it. And finally, the AKG is more than likely the best one. They are actually my main provider for everything. All of my professional grade headphones are from them and I recommend the hell out of em.

Or you're just raging because I've informed you that you wasted probably over a hundred bucks on a piece of stuff headset that looks cool.

forget it, since I'm on the El on my way to a meeting, I went over them, and personal choice-wise they go in this order, from worst to best;

Logitech G-35.
Steel Series 5H V2
AKG GHS-1

The Logitech's audio frequency isn't on par with the rest of them, it's actually about 4k lower than the Steel Series, and while the SS has a higher frequency range than the AKG headphones, and one thing I remember about Steel Series headphones that aren't made for pc gaming is when you plug it in you get a hissing / ringing noise, which is weird. But if you get say the Siberia or Siberia V2 which are their most popular headsets and specifically made for PC gaming, they don't have that problem.

Specification-wise though; Logitech, AKG, Steelseries.
