Author Topic: Dan just snagged a computer for $20! (pic)  (Read 2096 times)

HP Pavilion A735W

I'm getting that computer, but with some changes:

New Video Card (ATI Something or other, supports HD, all I care)

A whole damn Gigabyte of RAM

a broken disc drive.

It was my dad's, and since the power supply was broken, he let me have it.

Edit: I already have all the other stuff.

Not that great specs but for $20 anything is good.

But it might not be worth it depending on the price of a new power supply.

I'm paying $20. Why? Because that's the cost of a new power supply.

your dad made you pay for his old computer

wow ;c

edit: oh good its just for the psu

Actually he's also giving me an extra 512MB ram stick, so he's losing money.

Also the disc drive actually works, it's just a matter of the button being nonexistant.

A 512MB stick of RAM isn't 20 dollars lol.

That looks like my computer.

That looks like the tower I snagged for free.  Except mine is from 2007 and is way better than that.

It currently has 2gbs of pc2-5300 ram.  I have it sometimes maxed at 3gbs but I hate vista so much it can die for all I care.  This just primarily hosts my blockland servers and what not.

Specs are:

2.8 GHz Intel Pentium D
1gb GDDR2 ATI Radeon HD 4550
2gb of ram
250 gb HDD

I used to have the exact model, but it forgeted up. Now I rely on this ancient rock.

I have a Dell XPS Gen 3 with an nVidia 9800GT slapped on it (probably a bottleneck because of the Pentium4)

The sound card forgeted up and then replacing it didn't work (motherboard problem?)

Now, it's just a brick sitting in the office

reminds me of my old pc, i'll try to get pictures of it later

(it's in my attic but it's broken)
