Author Topic: Battlefield 3 server  (Read 3638 times)

The server is done and is up and running, so for anyone who wants to, come try it out!



This is the map. It has 3 bases to capture. The US and RU deployments can't be captured. Base A is a warehouse and has a tank in it. Base B is a town square and it has no vehicle spawns. Base C is a vehicle depot with garages and has a tank. Both deployments will have 2 Humvees and a Blackhawk helicopter.

This server will also feature the 4 classes from Battlefield 3. Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. The server will be exclusively BF3 guns made by Sgt. A. Walter in exception with the sniper and all of the gadgets. Many thanks to him btw.

When spawning in the game you will be facing a wall with four classes. Choose one then move on.


After this you will appear in a room where you select your weapons. You will be able to select different weapons depending on which class you choose. For example if you select Assault, you can select the M16 but not the AWP sniper rifle and so on.


After selecting your primary, sidearm, and gadget (you're already equipped with a knife and grenade upon spawning) turn around and press the red button in the back of the room to proceed to spawning. Click a base that you control on the map to spawn there.


Assault- M16, AK74M, G36, HK416

Engineer- M4A1, AK74U, SCAR, G53

Support- M27IAR, RPK, M249

Recon- AWP
(Currently this is the only sniper that i cant see being over powered, but im open to suggestions for more snipers!)

There will also be certain equipment only available for certain classes.

Assault- M79 grenade launcher, Medkit

Engineer- RPG-7, Landmine

Support- Mortar, C-4

Recon- Artillery Beacon


There will also be certain guns and equipment available for all classes

PP200, G3, MP7, M1 Garand, M1014, Saiga 12, and All Sidearms.

Try to actually build something before posting a topic, but if you do end up making it, make it very large. All of the Battlefield weapon pack is extremely op at close ranges, try to make it so most combat is at semi-long distances. It also enhances gameplay as more tactics are needed.
Also, put in certain objectives that aren't necessary to win the game, but can give a team a distinct advantage. Maybe an armory or vehicle garage or something. But if you do put in vehicles, try to keep it balanced. 5 tanks and 3 jeeps and a helicopter is not balanced, try having each team start off with one ground vehicle and one air vehicle. Ground vehicle should be a technical or jeep.

Thanks for the feedback. I've made a server like this before and i do have some things built like the buildings and such. Also the different objectives to capture will serve as optional objectives and they will have different things in them. Once you capture an objective the entire team will be able to spawn there. The level I made before was pretty big so most of the combat was taking place at medium to long range. I'm trying to condense it by adding more buildings and fewer wide open areas. The hills should be able to protect the deployments from spawnkillers also. I will make sure to keep the vehicles balanced as well. This was a big problem in my last server.

I agree, instead of reading some short bs about how you are making something, I'd rather see the actual build when it is complete or close to completion.

All of the weapons are in the right class. I play BF3 so i would know.

Looks good, but-

1. Needs more variation in buildings. Maybe a few blown out roofs, shingle roofs, etc.
2. Needs more terrain variation. Height variation, burnt out trees, etc.
3. Try using a weapon shop system for some variation or something different.
