Author Topic: Windows 8 - Does not work w/ Blockland  (Read 2215 times)

I upgraded to 8 for development purposes. I want to make sure all my stuff will work on 8. If not, I would have to go in and reprogram it to work. GTA doesn't work on 8. Most games don't seem to.

Did you not expect to not work?

What?
Sorry, "Did you not expect it not to work?"

Before the installstuff was installed on your USB/CD you should've gotten a warning about what drivers would not work, there's a good chance it was your video driver in the list.

I think Badspot will have to update something simple in Blockland so it works in Windows 8, this is the consumer preview by the way.

Are your OpenGL and OpenAL files up to date and in the correct file paths?  If not, then Blockland will need to be revised to suit Win8.

Found the Windows 8 ATi Drivers. Going to see if this will work. I have an odd feeling about it though.

I'm also using Windows 8, but it's working fine.

Blockland works fine on my Windows 8 and I didn't have to change anything so I can't help you. Just letting you know Windows 8 isn't completely incompatible.

You use Windows 8?
I did for a little while to try out Metro.

also why did you upgrade to 8 i mean its ugly imo they made it look like windows phone :(

SO UGLY OMG IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A PHONE.

Here's proof that I can run BL on Windows 8 just fine :3
(I linked it to avoid possible pagestretch)

That's the dev preview, and there's a few things that you pretty much have to use that force you back into metro.

That's what VirtualBox is for. :cookieMonster:

Blockland isn't suited for Windows 8...yet.

You should just downgrade it to Windows 7 or Windows XP (if possible, but I don't know if i'm joking or not)

The Reason Windows 8 doesn't work with Blockland is because Windows 8 is still in beta, so Badspot (Eric, the creator) is waiting for windows 8 to actually be launched

My CPU doesn't support virtualization to my knowledge.  I just used it on a spare hard drive.
