Author Topic: How do i make a song mono?  (Read 2013 times)

I want to make a song mono to put in RBL, but i dunno how in Audacity, a little help please

record it in Mono mix, not stereo.

Sweet, i found out how, but VerticalHorizon's way kinda confused me until i got curious and did this

•Clicked the track (the dropdown menu there)
•Clicked Split Stereo Track
•Hit the X on the track below the one on top

Then there, it worked find, but its not that good of a loop right now, i still gotta edit it :/

Wth is up with your text? 0.o

Dang, forgot to say

I also don't got the track button, all i got is

What version of Audacity do you got?

And the text was: I had a complete transitions from XP to Mac theme, and I was trying out that font, but after I hit apply my computer restarted itself and ever since then I can't change it.

Not the newest BETA one

Beta usually have bugs in em :P

I have the 1.3 beta and it works 100% fine.

MLD, on the left of your track there's this pull-down menu that looks hidden. You click on it and select "Split Stereo Track". You pull down the same menu on the two new tracks that splitting would have made. You select the one on the top to be "left" and the one on the bottom to be "right".

No, i fixed it, hmm, i thought i posted that i found out about splitting stero track and deleting the one underneath the top one :/

This is probably a dozen ways to make mono sound.

You can also split a stereo track, and then merge the two tracks.

Spliting a stereo track won't make it mono. It'll divide the left side from the right side. You must make each track from the split to mono before merging.
Also, If you delete one of the tracks, you will only have one of the sides, either left or right. Imagine a music where the left side and the right side are completely different...
