Author Topic: What's the appeal to MLP?  (Read 9550 times)

Whenever I watch the latest episode, while watching the intro, I feel a big ol' cloud of happy in my chest. And that's got to be it. This show is one of the only things in my life which is innocent and carefree. It's not satiracle or hateful or anything. It's just a big chunk of raw unprocessed happiness.

You loving suck at paraphrasing.

I can't see where he may have even come close to implying that.
i said what i observed, not what he implied

"GUYS LOOK AT THIS stuff I'M A MANLY forget BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE A stuff ABOUT PEOPLE WHO THINK I'M GIRLY FOR WATCHING THIS SHOW"
It's more about appealing to other flamboyant manchildren for individual group respect. One thing I noticed in Brony environments was silent competition to "ponify" your life as much as possible.

I watch Fringe, Lost, Paranormal, The River, stuff like that, in which all feature hardcore scary stuff

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is to cheer me up and make me feel fluffy inside

Sorry if I might be less tolerant of bronies on the internet
Pretty much all my real life friends are bronies (except for one) so I tend to get a lot of crap

I think people who watch the show call themselves bronies because they want attention and to be special.
Yeah. I think that people who like MLP should just be called MLP fans. We don't need any special codenames like 'pegasister' or 'brony'. We are just the same as any fandom.

Besides, everyone knows the best two TV shows in forever are Cory in the house and the Cosby show.

Aw, that's cute. But hold your intense obsession and don't stuff on everyone else.

The fans themselves are a different story. The simple explanation for that is that they are human. They'll either act like starfishs, weirdos, "normal" fine people, or a maniacal treat-it-like-a-religion "converting" machine.

They're not all bad, as not all humans are all bad. The fanbase gets a lot of flack because the focus is always on the people, comments, artwork, and so on that is in someway usable to feed the idea that there is something wrong going on.

I remember Cory in the house. I used to watch that show all the time.

Fine with me. I don't know why it's hard for people to keep ponies in the pony thread when they also have tons of other websites dedicated to them.

Ah. Still don't get how you got that but everyone has their own way of doing stuff.

When is this all gonna blow over? If I'm not corrected its been a year and a half and it shows no signs of stopping. What will everyone with MLP names and stuff do if it does blow over?

Die down like most fandoms do.
You act like they're going to be remembered forever.

Also why do you still have a Christmas hat?

can't say i disagree with the ponify thing, i've seen too many examples of people buying everything pony related, haha
