You're missing the point. Prime example of you using Linux to be different typically comes from the fact you aren't knowledgeable and just use it for the looks. Stop acting as if you're better than everyone else for using a different operating system. Anyone can put together 18-20 minutes to set up a Linux distribution. You're not different, special, or more intelligent.

so did you just blatantly look over everything that kingdaro said?

Jesus loving christ guys, what's wrong with having a system installed and customized the way you like it?

It's not really news that some people may not prefer window borders, that some people prefer minimalism, and that some people thought it would be neat to, for one reason or another, showcase their interests via keeping their current activities unminimized.

There's a nice little thing called preference, and just because someone or something is different, that doesn't mean they're trying to be edgy.

and no, i'm not different, special, or intelligent. i'm just doing things the way i like

sudo apt-get install gentoo
su -c 'rm -rf /'
reboot

i'm not stupid i know gentoo is a file manager :/

for his intentions, he never claimed a valid reason to use linux, his hardware can run windows 7 fine and he didn't have any issues with it. That comes to my other point being, that he switches operating systems too much. I don't get the appeal to that, if he switches distros, he normally does it because he likes the look of some feature that it has like openbox or some other ricey feature. I use windows because it has best compatibility, if I werent I would be using linux for a system, but then again I have most programs to use. I really see no appeal to making a good desktop, sure it has minimilism, but does he really need to switch it every other day?
arukemo: so i switched back to mint :c

I do like him though, I feel bad for calling him out as I did before, and I probably wont do it again, or be calm about it. I don't want this to come out as insulting. Because I am friends with him and I enjoy talking to him

sudo apt-get install gentoo
su -c 'rm -rf /'
reboot

I bet you even Googled that.

and you're not reading this

i've stated so many times that i have problems doing stuff on windows, i'm not even going to say it anymore

I can run windows 7 on a thinkpad t60 with no issues

so did you just blatantly look over everything that kingdaro said?
No, I didn't. I read most, if not all posts in a (<100-page) topic before I post. His point is valid, but is not a defense for you to hide behind.
and no, i'm not different, special, or intelligent. i'm just doing things the way i like
Then stop flaunting this superiority you have about you for using Linux and just loving use Linux. I don't understand why people have to brag about what they did on the internet instead of just doing it and shutting the forget up (plenty of exceptions exist here.)

YouTube is really unstable under all platforms. It's not OS-dependent.

I can run windows 7 on a thinkpad t60 with no issues

Ok, well news flash: I'm not you.

Not to be mean, dismissive, or anything like that, but could you guys shut up and take your argument elsewhere? The thread is getting really off-track. I mean, we nearly have a whole page you guys bickering about something I missed and therefore am neutral about.

i installed arch on my friends computere!!!!!!
forget yeah, Numix.

I wish it worked on eOS. :c
