I've used Gamebooster for a while to improve performance of GTA IV. It definitely helps. But don't expect miracles. Its good for smoothing out game play and giving it an extra kick.

I used to use this when Minecraft had some bad framerate problems. All this does is turn off some processes that you aren't really using or need at the time, it all depends on your computer though if it will make a difference. Some people do this, but this program turns off processes for you, so you don't mess any thing up; like turning off explorer.exe. Afterwards you can just turn Gamebooster off and it will turn the disable processes back on.

Gamebooster helps me in TF2 a little bit. So far I haven't crashed, so that's a good thing. <3
