Server Connection Problems

To start with I'd like to make it clear this has only little to do with me and that the problem is seemingly growing.

As of late I have been noticing an increase in Hosts who have been having trouble getting people to join. Not talking about server populations or advertisements. I'm talking about the very real trouble of being unable to have anyone join their server. So far everyone has repeatedly kept saying "try forwarding your ports" or "enabling UPnP" however, even if these are done already, people are still having trouble hosting their servers.

Amongst these hosts, are people who have normally hosted servers before without trouble, and the number has slowly increased over time. This has come to the point that I bring this before you forum dwellers in order to find an answer to these problems. To do this I make this forum topic in the hopes that those who run these servers and use the forums will gather to this topic and possibly explain how they host their server, if they have their ports forwarded, if they have UPnP enabled and possibly any other information related to creating their server.

Information Needed
  • Information such as Port Forwarding and UPnP
  • Server Creation Information
  • Your Blockland Name and the Server Name you create
  • When people became unable to join your server
  • Any other information you may have that may help us help you all

Please post any of the information above and more if you have it, I hope to see posts that can help us, and if possible get these servers back up and working. Thank you.

I have been hosting servers for some time, and it stopped working yesterday or Friday. My ports haven't changed, neither has my IP address. My firewall is off. No one can join (this, or Garry's Mod, which is odd), and I can't think of anything else that's changed. Maybe a Windows update? I've gone back into my router and re- saved the settings, but nothing's helped.

My Bl name is *Burp*, and my server is Tactical showdown.

Make sure UPnP is disabled if you are going the Port Forwarding option. Which I highly recommend. Also try just forwarding ports 28000-28032. Your local IP may not have changed but possibly your IPv4 address has changed. Open up a CMD window and type in "ipconfig" Then find the number located next to IPv4. Make sure it is the same as the the Private IP you entered when port forwarding.

Tell me if this helps in any way. I am giving this advice because it has happened to me before and I found that the IPv4 number changed on its own which rendered me incapable of hosting a server that used to always work.

I forward ports 28000-28099. I never have used UPnP.

I press "Start a Game" and I click start.

Darkness, Fort Wars/Freebuild (Why do you need this?)

Not usually ever.

Yes. This shouldn't go in Help, I don't think.

Uh, I thought he/she meant to make it so people knew how people who can host do it, my server works fine.

Thanks, I'll try it.
