well I've been sick since like Friday morning, but I still had to be in five pep rallies and go to a game, even though I really shouldn't have gone to the game. my ears were hurting and I had a headache and stomachache, and my throat hurt every time I swallowed, and the worst part was that my jugular veins constantly felt like they were being pressed on and constricted (press those long neck muscles you can see towards each other for a few seconds, then imagine that going on for hours at a time ;~;)

I missed a marching band competition today over that stuff

I think a pun is more like one word that could have multiple meanings in the sentence it's used in.
I think a better word to describe this is "portmanteau"
