"Scalesona" sounds painfully lame to me. The word itself, not the meaning.

I don't want to seem to imply that PowerDag is a furry, because he is a dragon. A dragon is not a mammal.

I'm implying that PowerDag is a scalie because he's a dragon. Scalies are furries with a fursona in the category: reptiles, fish, amphibians, and dragons.

Scalies are a category of furries. I want to use the appropriate terms.

If you want me to, I could just use the word "furry" to flat-out imply that a person wants/has a fursona.
