Author Topic: Blockland Day Cycle Preview - Shaders and all that  (Read 28413 times)

Because transparent bricks aren't affected by shadows. The Shadows and Shaders just act like there aren't any bricks there.
It'd be neat if they could get the transparent bricks to affect the lighting, then you could have tinted rooms and stained glass would look even better

I think komp said that shadows affected by transparent bricks may be possible, but won't be in this update.

Yeah, I asked that question.

theres kinda a problem at 1:05. the windows at the top of the museum is blue, but the light inside the museum is white.
Something they *might* have to work on.
STAINED GLASS ART.

WHAT NOW?

ITT: people acting like small children not wanting to let go of their teddy-bear

That would plain amazing.

I don't think anyone else noticed this, but that build at 0:21 looks like its Left 4 Dead No Mercy chapter 1.

I did.

So are we still having white lines? I really like the line texture.

I believe that's the "shaders'" enhancements.

You don't pay much attention... The texture isn't removed, the shaders and other new stuff make the white lines not magically show in pitch black darkness.

I can only pray badspot allows stained windows.

Transparent bricks will not have any effect on light. Light will pass through it like it doesn't exist. I'm not sure if they plan on changing this in the future, considering this is just the start of the new lighting.
