Author Topic: Is it safe to get a Pokemon game ported to my Android phone?  (Read 1817 times)

Everybody with an Android does it in school right now.
You can actually play a game for a Gameboy on your phone with all the features and stuff and I really want to play Pokemon because I gave the gameboy to someone else years ago :c

Here's the problem, you've got to go to Android Market and download something called 4share, then you've got to download stuff like ROM.GET. and go to some other website and download INC.TOOL or something and so on.
How do I know I won't get any viruses?

And I guess it's legal, since I bought the same Pokemon game years ago. (Pokemon FireRed)

I have an snes emulator on my ipod

I don't see why not

yeah, it is. Popular Science recommended some it.

is it safe? yeah

is it legal? ... huuuuge grey area surrounding that.

You should post a website that explains how to do this, Im interested

Yes please.

I don't want to give my phone to people in school so they can do it instead.

Yeah it's legal if you bought the game, but for the slight chance that you do get a virus, who doesn't have an active virus protection these days?

I don't :I

I just typed in emulator on Android market and got a bunch of interesting stuffs.

All you need is an emulator (there are plenty in the Market) and the rom for the game you want to play

Don't know what this 4share bullstuff is and it sounds unnecessary

4share is like mediafire. It's a file hosting website.

Besides, phones usually can't get viruses.

You'd be surprised. Phones have become a huge target.

Someone in my computer security mentioned something about Google taking steps to detect and remove applications in their market that are malicious, so it should be safe. However, if this 4share is downloading software from some other source, then there's no guarantee.
