Author Topic: So I found these weights.  (Read 1557 times)

Seeing how I sit around all day being a richard, I thought using these weights I found while doing stuff would be a good idea.

What do you guys do to keep in shape?
Starting today, I do reps while surfing the internet. How long do you think I'll have to do this until I reach desirable results? Regardless, I'll do it until I can...idk, I just want to be strong :I

Pic of weights in attachments. Right is for right arm and left is for, you guesses it, left. I am right handed.

Need to stay in shape?

love.

How heavy are they? And just doing weights wont keep you in shape.

Hmn, I don't know. I could measure them in the day to come, if you like.
Also, I ride my bike to school every day there is school and I participate in my P.E class(when the kids let me play basket ball with them :C).

here's what to do instead

1. dont bother with the weights
2. focus on doing pushups, situps, squats and chinups

you'll get more in shape than you'd be able to with them, and all you need is your bodyweight and somewhere to do chinups

I need the mussel to do those exercises. After all, I weigh in at ~230.

doing 50 jumping jacks every set interval is good

when you have weights you should hold them up and do things like lunges and stuff

Neat, will try.

I lifted the weights untill it hurt, then I did 40 alright jjacks, 8 bad ones, then 10 good ones. Did what I thought was lunges with the weights with all the things on it and all I can say is forget.

Seeing as your fat (no offense intended, I'm just assuming because you weigh 230) I would suggest trying to start to eat healthy and start running a little bit. Working with those weights will be fine for now since they seem relatively light (10lbs~) but you wont get any noticeable results from them.

Would biking count? I hate running because all of my weight is slammed onto each knee.

Honestly compared to other exercises, weights aren't worth your time.
And on the subject of workout stuff i remember using one of my weights as an abroller but i seriously over did it and it hurt like legitimate stuff for days.

I don't really know if it is because of your weight but it may just be your form is off and you just need to learn to run properly, also if you can go a solid 20km/h for an hour it would definitely help.

I remember one time in PE class, we had this serious sub. She made us do sets of crunches, plank holds, and jumping jacks. I had that mussel soreness for like 3 days afterwords :C
Edit: We have this thing at our school called "weight room". As the name implies, it has weights and a stuffload of gym equipment in it. The thing is, we have only been in it once this year. IDK why.

Yeah biking is good, but I think the most important factor for you at this point would be eating less and more healthy. What Bolster suggested is good, but it's pretty hard to do any of those when you weigh 230 pounds.

This.

Also;
I stay in shape by, well, not being a lazy bastard on the computer everyday.
On school days, I have to walk to and from school about 2 miles each way.
During school, I take a voluntary PE class.
During lunch, I eat healthy stuff like Wraps and Salads.
When I get home, I usually ride my bike around the neighbourhood.

After all this, I weigh about 140LBS and am fairly skinny.

I dont know if you're trying to get in shape right now, but let me warn you, You cant just decide one night that you're going to get in shape. When most people do this, they do a few pushups, situps, and jog for 2 days, but then when they dont see any results, they quit.
Exercise is a lifestyle, not a decision.

Oh! I live in an apartment complex, and we have a clubhouse of sorts where the board members does all of their stuff in one day a week. The other days its open to all the residents, and it has a weight room in it. I'll weigh myself in the morning, weigh the weights, and then take some pictures and proceed to use the equipment. Excellent.

This.

I know what you are talking about, as I have failed in the realm that is excercize many, many times before. Thing is, I'm going into ninth grade next year and I don't want to be ridiculed anymore at school. I'm going to try my damnedest and hopefully loose some weight.
