Torque3D is somewhat useless unless you're wanting to make a small FPS game.

Torque 3D is horrible for any type of game, small FPS games included.

Mine.

i can't think of one

My dad is currently learning Java, and says I should learn it, too. He gave me this book on Java to read, and my mind was full of forget from the beginning. I find it easier to learn Java when my dad teaches me instead of just giving me a book to read.

learning by something that's more an apprenticeship is normally easier than reading references because you can ask a person a question if you're confused. if you find a good resource, it can be better than working with people though.

i personally learn better by fiddling around on my own once i have decent understanding of a language

C++ to learn on. Gives you some respect for what managed languages like Java and C# do for you.
