Author Topic: Building a computer  (Read 1559 times)

Hey guys, I'm building a new computer because this one sucks when it comes to gaming.

Current computer -
Laptop, Windows Vista, 211 GB harddrive capacity, Compaq laptop case, 32-bit, 1.5 GB RAM, Dual core -Video card- (I don't know which one to get yet)

Custom built computer (what I'm aiming to make) -
Desktop, Windows 7 enterprise, 1 TB harddrive capacity, HP pavilion 752n/700 computer case, 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, Quad core -Video card- (I don't know which one to get yet)

The reason why I put this in community projects is because I'd like recommendations, it's a project, and I'm going to keep you guys posted. So in a way, it is a community project.

I installed the optical drives, and the power supply. I would do more, but it's time to save up for the other parts.

i love how you know absolutely nothing but you're biased as forget

what are you looking to do with the computer? gaming?
do you have a price range? what PSU did you get?

i love how you know absolutely nothing but you're biased as forget
You're right, I don't know anything about AMD stuff

AMD is SLIIIIIGHTLY worse then Intel... But intel is around four times as expensive on most retail websites.

Gaming, Windows Movie Maker creation, and what is a PSU... I love you now, because you told me about a PSU. if not for you I'd have it all set up and it wouldn't run because I lacked the PSU.

Unless PSU means Power Supply.

I'm still looking at Power Supplies, My land lady gave me her old computer case for helping her smash a statue in her backyard, and then it further turned out that it was a fully pre-built HP pavilion 700/752n and  the power supply in it broke down. Apperentally, she didnt have time to fix it so she just bought a new one.

So I have a CD-rom optical drive,a DVD burner/wrighter optical drive, and a case. Got any recommendations for me?
Also, i'm actually going to get a lot of this stuff from eBay. cheapest prices in the world yo.
