Author Topic: Do you think Blockland would ever go to console?  (Read 1889 times)

I actually like this idea.

Though I still think the issue would remain that the whole engine would need to be ported, and there would be millions of compatibility issues etc. etc.
Just...Theres way to many key binds. Would never happen. Building would be impossible.

Red's idea is that console players would not be able to build, only play on combat-related servers.

It just wouldn't work on a controller. Which is quite ironic, considering Blockland actually supports gamepad controls.

Why did you do say etc. twice?

I highly, HIGHLY doubt it.

Player on console can customize avatar and join servers, but can't host. They can also only join TDM/DM/Trench DM or whatever other kind of DM there is.

So it's like console players connect to PC hosts.

Only PC users would be able to host though, and there wouldn't be enough open servers for everybody to join.

I don't think the engine even supports other consoles.

that would be incredibly gay and wouldnt even be blockland

Only Wii and Xbox 360.

PC's are far stronger than any crap console out there. Blockland will forever be a PC exclusive game (or computer exclusive if you count Mac and Linux).

Plus, what would the max brick count be on that old hardware? 10,000 bricks?

Yea thats what I was thinking.
Way to many keybinds and people would be way to limited.

imagine the awful aliasing on a 1080p tv.
it would be unbearable. blockland is notorious for showing them lines more then any other game on earth lol.
not an issue for a computer, a simple graphic edit and they are gone. but this isnt possible for a tv
