Author Topic: Does ID Matter?  (Read 3913 times)

Hello, Panjake or Mr Gingee here. And i am writing to the community to ask my fellow Blocklanders a question.
If you cant read and/or dont want to read dont worry. Ok so the question is, Does your BL id matter?

To me it has always mattered, it just clarifys to people that i have had the game and astonishing time. And that i am dedicated, even if i do have rather long periods of time away.
Anyway what im trying to ask is do you think it matter?

no it doesn't. it just says when somebody joined the game.

Your BL_ID doesn't matter. It's just a ID to lock doors and set variables. Like, an idiot might be a 7K ID, but if a 35K is a smart person and a good admin, guess who gets admin.

No.  People who believe their IDs make them superior to other players aren't worth your time.

From personal experience, it seems like people who either have very high IDs or haven't changed their name don't like to talk or obey rules and spam a lot. Just sayin'. Although I can't say anything, I'm a 17k.

No. I am tired of ID national socialists bitching at me because my ID is 30051. I worked with the demo for two years in singleplayer to learn how everything worked and to practice my aim, and I've outsniped, outevented, outgunned, outrocketed, and outbuilded many ID national socialists (I even outscripted one, he couldn't even edit and I made an akimbo raygun). And they all still just insulted me condescendingly and left.
I've met 10k IDs who are dumber than me. So no, I don't think it does.
What DOES matter is anyone who...
1. Randomly walks up to you and tries to hammer you to death
2. Never EVER uses chat
3. Doesn't understand that weapons can't hurt people outside of minigames in most servers
4. Still has the default Blockhead<id> name (note there are a FEW exceptions to this)
5. Places random 1x1 spam bricks to spawn weapons and doesn't delete them afterwards.
6. Ignores all rules about what weapons and vehicles and playertypes are allowed
7. Spams anything (physics vehicles, projectiles, emitters/particles, physics, bots, item spawns, etc.)

On a vaguely related note, no server should even have any weapons that are 'not allowed'. Just unzip the file, find the weapon item, and use code from Guns Akimbo's server.cs in the console to set the UI name to blank so that players cannot ever select that item until it is changed.

I know 10kers who can't figure that out.

ID means little to nothing. So I could do without the ID profiling. Thank you.

I sure hope that was mocking the ID national socialists. In case you haven't noticed, I have a hard time telling when someone is kidding.

Well let me upgrade that sarcasm detector from a '99 to a 2012 version.

lol, I wish I could upgrade my sarcasm detector.
I was pretty sure that was a joke, but I have seen people say things like that and be dead serious, so you never know.
Yes, it was that bad.

Depends what you mean with "matter".

IDs do matter in some cases ya kno.
It's just a ID to lock doors and set variables.
says when somebody joined the game.

IDs provide information and functions and therefor do matter. I think they are somewhat needed by Badspot too, I think?

But then, that depends on how you define "matter" in this question.

Literal meaning much?

If ID 238, 3920 or 933 joins my server I'm gonna be interested, if ID 23934, 32943 or 29350 joins I'm not.
It's just the way it happens. I can't change that and why would I want to.

I've seen dumbasses in those lower ranges too, though most were more trolls or 'alternate users' (i.e. yougner sibling playing on their BL)

ID matters only a bit. I'm only 5K and i can build, event, fight, but not script. I see, usually a person under 10K is a bit... Classical, how i should say it. and usually the 20K-30K's are the noob people, with exeptions, like yourbuddybill, but... I see the 20K-30K's like some kind of people who think they are good admins, and can't recieve criticism. No racism, i just got that image of the 20K-30K's.
