Author Topic: My local Walmart has a very stuffty CD selection. :C  (Read 1342 times)

Yeah, I went to Walmart and their CD selection sucks (what else is new?)

Because it's so confusing to find any CD's there. They shove all their CD's within two tiny aisles.

Their selection of CD's go like this, one aisle has a section for gospel, Latino, and 'hot' music.

The second just had rock/pop and country stuff. Meaning, they throw anything with guitars in it under rock, and anything else under pop, like dubstep, hip-hop, etc (which is extremely biased, because there's no way dubstep or hip-hop could EVER be classified as pop). And that's it. Which makes it impossible to find music by genre. Well, they supposedly have all they're CD's in "alphabetical order"

Which is bullstuff. Because I was looking for some CD's a few days ago, and they only had one In This Moment CD. And I found that under "U" My brain had trouble processing that for a while. And earlier today, I was looking for a KoRn CD, and under the little tag that said "korn" on it, there were Kayne West (or whatever his name is) CD's, all I could think is "this store is so forgeted up." Soooo... I ended up finding a KoRn CD under "M." And how I found that was, I saw a Megadeth CD and picked it up, right behind it was "KoRn's Greatest Hits Volume I" or something like that.

Point is, Walmart needs to have more genre section for rock and metal stuff like they do for gospel and Latino stuff or their employees really need to do a better job arranging their CDs, or they need to do something about people picking up CD's and putting them where they don't belong.

They also barely have any CD's I'd buy. There's only like 5 bands/artists I like who's CD's I could find.

Discuss trouble finding CD's in your town. :(

Buy your music online by asking your parents. Unless you listen to most of your stuff in secret.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do from now on. I never listen to stuff in secret, because me and my father listen to the same music. In fact, my dad already borrowed a CD I got.

My mom kind of gets pissed off at what my dad and me listen to. But we don't care lol.

I have a hard time getting pendulum CDs locally.

I went to Wal-Mart for CDs once. 0/10 never went in that half of the store again. Best Buy is the only place I go for music now.

That's more out of concern of whether or not her parents would crack down on her for what she listens to. Since that isn't the case, She's good.

And she could probably care less about what the forum thinks of her music selection.

CDs are kind of a dying breed of music distribution, you should really just get it online if you can

HMV is great for cd choice lol

There is this place in New York dedicated to music. It's called the House of Guitars. I went there once, my mind was blown with how much of a selection of music they had.

Uh, dubstep is probably one of the most popular music genres of today. What are you on about?

forget no, real fans get actual CDs and support the artist. I have some but not a lot. I would though if I was a millionaire.

I don't think 'pop' specifically connotes just 'popular' anymore.

Pop hasn't been used to describe popular/modern music for a long time.

My parents only buy routers from Wal-Mart and they suck so horribly. All other routers seem like they would be great, but nooo.
