Author Topic: Blockland Error 5  (Read 5410 times)

That list would seem to say that this console error:
Code: [Select]
Got non-CURLE_OK result on a request, result was 22
 - Request was for 'http://cloud.blockland.us/blobs/89d9a5fa92c73421aee5871959d429c4f20c6213.bz2'

Would be this error: CURLE_HTTP_RETURNED_ERROR, 22

This error is spammed in console many times whenever you join a server.

I figured I was the only one getting that error, and since it wasn't a game-changing problem, I didn't make a topic about it.
On that note, yes, I get that error also.

Nope, I'm pretty sure everybody has that error.

This happens whenever it tries to download something from the cdn that isn't there - it gets a 404 error.  Future versions of the game will print the http error code to console as well.  404s will probably be ignored.

Error 5 is CURLE_COULDNT_RESOLVE_PROXY.  So you have done something strange to your internets.

So iSime, have you done anything to your router recently?

No, nothing. Like I said, I have another computer which has Blockland, and it works fine on there. But here, it doesn't, and I want help.

As you said before, remove the firstRun argument on my launcher.log. I can't find it, mind helping me there?

I have no latestmanifest thing at all here. Could someone PLEASE help? Also, my internet is FINE, and so is this computer. And as I stated at the beginning of the thread, Blockland worked fine with no errors or anything before the 20v update.

Oh, and just thought I'd add..

I HAVE NO CONSOLE.LOG.

Don't ask me to post that, I don't even have one. Why? BECAUSE THE GAME DOESN'T OPEN THE CONSOLE. It only opens the launcher, then it says it can't load everything and it has an error.

Rightclick your blockland launcher. Press properties. Look at the location path and the end there should be this: -firstRun. Remove that extension.

Also, try these 3 steps.

1.) Restart your router.

2.) Repair your Internet connection

3.) Uninstall/Reinstall your Internet adapted.

If you need help on any step, please reply! ;)

In addition to what Scratch said, run Windows network diagnostics. Here's a tutorial for Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308007

Once you run the diagnostics, tell us if it says anything is wrong.

There is no -firstRun to be found in the properties. Is that bad?

I've also done everything you said there in the past, including what Greek2me said. Any other ideas?

No, that's fine.

Did the network diagnostics say anything?

Also, do you have any firewalls that are active? (Windows Firewall, Norton, etc)

First question, it's okay. It says it's all good.

Second question:

This is quite odd. Try Microsoft Update and post a traced log.

It's saying it cannot resolve the proxy guys.

Here is one thing to try.
1: Open Internet Explorer (just more convenient than other browsers)
2: Make sure the menu bar is enabled, click the menu button labeled tools.
3: Click internet options
4: Select the connections tab
5: Press the Lan Settings... button
6: Try unchecking the box that says "Use a proxy server for your LAN"

If that box is already unchecked then ignore this.

Actually, it's not saying it can't resolve the proxy. It's saying it can't find the internet and it thinks my internet is gone. But it isn't. And ScratchTehEpic? How is that odd? It's saying it's good, and there's nothing bad about it.
