Author Topic: I haven't been this moved by something in a very long time.  (Read 1020 times)

I was browsing through a forum earlier today, and I discovered this video posted by a fellow member. It's of an Asian boy who was abandoned at the age of 3, and has lived alone since age 5 because he was bullied out of his orphanage. Watch the video, and follow the subtitles, while they're off by a bit, you can still get the gist of it. And while his style of singing may not be of your tastes, the second he opened his mouth, my eyes started watering. Not only because of his voice, but because of his story.

The kid has got some guts. More so than half of the people on this forum claim to have.

Still a good story though.

i dont believe his backstory though.
good singer

reported for being a loving idiot.

so what it's old? doesn't mean it's not an awesome thing to share. it's like a new person discovering blockland, and then you shooting down their interest in it because you've known it longer. just makes you seem like a richard.

Sorry that I don't find it as touching as you do.

now see, there's no way for you to say that you do. you responded a little less than a minute after I posted this. that wouldn't have even gotten you to the point of his singing. unless you skipped past the story and listened to his voice only.

and no, it's not a matter of whether or not you find it touching or not, it's a matter of how incredibly disrespectful it is to shoot that down so fast, and respond in a way that was clearly intended for trolling. people like you make me sick.

wasn't calling you an idiot, lol.

and i was saying using the slowpoke reaction image just makes you look like a richard.

I've seen it before.

The reason I wasn't moved by the story, is because national talent shows like this one always make a point of finding the most heart-wrenching stories that keep people interested. It's to make up for the fact that even though it's a talent show, a large majority of competitors are just singers and the producers know that some person singing well gets boring after a while.

The milk the story of the people so much that I'm not really phased by anything. Glad it drew a reaction from you though, it means they've done their job.

In other words, it seems a bit like a sympathy cry to keep people interested.

It WAS posted on the forums before.

i can understand that. but i don't watch singing shows or anything like that, so I wasn't really aware that this is a common thing to do.

I think it's probably a lie

Well now you know. I haven't watched this video, but the title of it explains what I'm saying.
