Author Topic: Thinking of going to an old Cold War missile bunker that's near me  (Read 1513 times)

So, about five minutes away from my house, there's an old Cold War era Nike missile bunker. The whole purpose of the thing was to shoot down incoming missiles so they didn't hit Bridgeport (AKA the Detroit of Connecticut). I recently learned there's one near my house on public property, seeing as they built a goddamn park on the site. The bunker is still there, and I have a good idea of where the entrance is. If this is on public property, can I enter it? I don't want to get arrested for going in an abandoned military building, even if it is on public property.

Do it and take pictures or record it. Then launch nukes.

GOGOGOGOGOGGO

I DONT USUALLY SAY THIS BUT forget THE POLICE
A military bunker that hasnt been opened for a while will have tons of goodies

Take pictures.
Will do. I'll post some here once I go, if I won't get arrested for it.

Not many people know about this place, I had to do some serious digging to find out whether it existed. I heard it briefly mentioned, but that's all. There's a good chance nobody's been in there since the 60s.

Maybe if you're lucky you can get lacerated by a rusty handrail.

I've had worse, and I'm not that clumsy.

At first I was like, 'How doesn't anyone know that there is a bunker there?' but monuments can be anywhere.
as for being arrested, You might for say, breaking in or being in private property or something. It's like going to the park and breaking into the say, bathrooms when they are locked, or the house that holds lawn supplies and stuff. If it's locked for a reason, then entering it could get you in trouble.

I imagine behind the nuke a handle that when lifted the concrete slab rotates on a hinge and the nuke with it, and the nuke is made of cardboard.

You're probably going to find some guys weed operation down there.

Also, My school was built in the height of the cold war, and it has a nuke shelter, but they don't let anyone in.

The cure for Aids might be in there!

If there's no sign that says that entry is prohibited then I say go for it.
Take friends, too, there's safety in numbers

There's no signs.
