Author Topic: Looking for an HTML editor.  (Read 717 times)

i'd like to create a site for my simfiles and I thought it'd be nice if I could find an HTML editor that has one of those previews that updates instantly so I can see what it looks like as I type, if such a program even exists.

also, preferably i'd like it to be free, so don't mention dreamweaver, and even then I'm pretty sure that wouldn't fit the criteria.

What You See Is What You Get is what you're looking for. Google for WYSIWYG editors.

i'm familiar with those type of editors, however I'm more comfortable with code.

i was moreso describing a side-by-side view with the website's code on one side and the output on the other, which is one of the reasons i specifically outruled dreamwaver.

sorry if i wasn't specific enough.

works, thanks.

Adobe Dreamweaver is exactly what you're asking for.

Adobe Dreamweaver is exactly what you're asking for.
again why i mentioned it because sadly, it isn't free and it costs the kind of money unavailable to me right now.

Komodo Edit.

I've used it to create websites when doing freelance work for clients.

I stick with Notepad++. I'm cheap like that.

i've forgeted around with some things to get it the way i wanted, thanks.

Also, if you get SeaMonkey(a browser) it has a html editor thing built in.

If you need live preview while editing HTMl then you're doing something wrong. If you need live preview while editing CSS, use http://www.webputty.net/.

works, thanks.
