Author Topic: Can you host to servers at once?  (Read 1065 times)

Hi, just a quick question. Is it possible to host two servers at once using the same IP adress but different computers? What if two different keys are used?

Whoops, made a typo in the title. I meant "two" not "to"

Yes, it's possible. You don't even need to use 2 keys. Just make sure that both servers use different ports (change in Advanced Config) and that you portforward for both of those.

Let one server have port 28000 and the other 28001 because that's what I'm using now

Does it work if one is hosting with UPnP?

Or whatever it's called?

probably.
another thing that you may have to do is have a seperate installation of blockland

Wouldn't separate computers already have this?

You don't even need 2 installations
I just tried it out

Cool, so just port forward 28000 and 28001, and I can host two servers by changing the port in advanced config? Cool.

One more question though, can I just forward 28000-28001, or would I have to do them separately somehow?

I can't remember exactly how Blockland uses ports but I think it'd be safer to use 28000 and 29000 and forward the ranges 28000-28030 and 29000-29030.

it uses 28000 by default for servers, and does not need spare ports for a server.
unless he's putting up 30 servers, he doesn't need the extra ports.

I've hosted two at once, one being a dedicated and the other just being a private server in the 28000-28030 range.

Thanks for all your help everyone!

Forwarding them in bulk should work fine. Or you could just not bother and use UPnP.

Do you mean UPnP for one server and port 28000 for the other server? That doesn't sound like it would work.
