Author Topic: Is the crowbar trademarked or something?  (Read 2603 times)

I haven't seen many games other than Half-Life that use a crowbar. During the 90s The entire Fallout series had a crowbar weapon but they stopped using them in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I haven't seen other games after Half-life 2 that use crowbars either.

Did Valve seriously trademark a crowbar or something?

I see you're back. It's a staple of Valve's character, they just chose to not use it.

You dont trademark the crowbar

Yes, and I would know...

Because I'm an brown townyst

I don't know why not, it's a very useful tool.

Dead Island has crowbars
I don't see how that is relevant to this topic.
it's relevant because you made the topic
using that little retort doesn't do much good when you post irrelevant things too

Deus Ex used had crowbars, from memory.

Dead Island has crowbars

Ah, I didn't know Dead Island had crowbars.

I guess most developers just don't want to use crowbars for some reason.

Ah, I didn't know Dead Island had crowbars.
Dead Island sucks though so I wouldn't dwell on it too much

I don't believe it is but I just realized it and felt the need to post

They are scared of Gordon knocking down there door and shoving a crowbar up there ass.
In seriousness, it's just that sense the crowbar has already been used heavily in HL, then gave devs would like to look at more original weapons.

Well I have no idea why it's not in Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I could had used it to break down doors like in Fallout 1 and 2, oh well.

well, it wasn't really used heavily at all
unless I'm just the odd man out, in HL2, as soon as I got hold of a pistol I never used the crowbar again
