Jumped the Shark? How so?
I don't know what he means by Jumped the Shark, but I personally found the change from 10th to 11th Doctor to be very awkward.
For the first couple of episodes Matt Smith had trouble finding his own twist on the character, I found.
He half-played it as Tennant and then played it more as the style he has now.
And that style is very childish and light-hearted.
Which to be honest, isn't very Doctor Who-ey at all.
Tennant had a great and fun play to the Doctor, but he was capable of some great intense moments.
His final part was really touching, in my opinion.
Matt Smith has this childish take to it that for me, seems difficult for him to ever play something very seriously.
I don't think I'll ever see him in such a saddened state as Ecclestone and Tennant played when they were emotionally hurt.
I don't think I'll ever see him be truly distraught at the death of a species or of the concept of a sacrifice of himself to save his loved ones.
I've come to enjoy Smith's portrayal, but I don't think he's quite as good as Ecclestone and Tennant were.
Nor as lovey. :(
