'Ehh, the Middle Finger works in Britain, Australia and I'm pretty sure France and the rest of Europe too, which would include the Mediterannean, so Italy, Greece and maybe Turkey too.

The two fingers (Not a peace sign as it's got the palm facing the insulter) is more of a purely British one than Australian.
I've no idea how legitimate the truth behind it is, but the old wives tale behind it is that it's an English insult to the French.

In battle the French would capture English archers and instead of killing them they would cut off their first two fingers, effectively making them incapable of firing a bow ever again. Then they would release them back to the English as an insult.
So, pulling two fingers at a frenchman was supposed to be an insult as if to say "You haven't got these yet, Frenchie".

is this a joke or something?

In Mexico put your palm like you're going to palm strike someone from martial arts and push it toward them. Thats a good one to learn since there's so many mexicans.

apparently this isn't a joke.

the forget? italians dont do that

I've never seen anyone do the one that australia is listed under

we all use our middle finger like america

I've never seen anyone do the one that australia is listed under
It's a purely British thing. You will only find it in the United Kingdom.
I don't know why Australians would be believed to do it at all.

yeh i see it in the UK a lot as well.
