Hi, welcome to the Forums.

Basically, you need to know to follow the rules.
Make sure you read the rules to each of the boards before posting in them as not all of them apply to every board.

Generally speaking in terms of behaving on the forums, we're pretty carefree.

It's poor ettiquette and expected, however, that you:
  • Do not use lots of emotes for no reason, unless they are used sparingly and usually in the right context, for example: "Well done, nice item.  :cookie:" In a topic in the Gallery or Add-On's boards is fine.
  • Do not use lots of reaction images for many posts or comprise entire postings around using a single image
  • Don't add a signature to your posts. While there is no rule against it, it is frowned upon by some. You can add a signature, such as your name to the end of your posts, but expect people to pick up on it and point it out. And if you do use a signature, do not use an image or such as that would upset even more people. The entire reason that Profile Signatures do not show up is because it's not wanted for people to have to sift through images to get to the next post.
  • Generally, don't type everything in BBCode. Which includes colouring all of your posts, or making it a different size or in a different font or italicising it, etc...
  • Accept that swearing will be present on the forums. While there is no rule against swearing, it's not encouraged to compose a post nearly entirely out of swears. But if you don't like swearing you'll have to know and tolerate that people do swear on the forums and are allowed to.
  • Don't spam people via PM's or wrongfully report posts to moderators or display offensive images in your forum avatar. The Ability to PM other members, Report to Moderators and have an Avatar are able to be removed at Badspots pleasure and he does remove abilities of members who abuse these things.
  • Be aware that posts in the Drama and Help boards (Help too, right?) can not be edited. So anything you do say in there will be kept. Also of note, if you post something in a board that does allow editing, and it is offensive and you are reported for it, Mods can see previous edits of a post, so you can't just cover up what you've done. I suppose if no one sees and reports though you can't really be caught out for it.
  • Try not to bump topics that are very old, particularly if you have nothing of merit to add or if for example, the topic is a question and it has been answered already, don't both bumping it to add the same answer.
  • Don't edit the topic titles when making replies
  • Don't be a complete richard. While it's not a rule, you'll not be thanked if you act purely idiotic or 100% rude for no reason. You'll end up with Drama Topics and all sorts.

That's just a few things that I could think up, but there are loads of things that are deemed acceptable and unacceptable.
You can pick up what people find to be too much quite easily by just watching.
And if you do rooster up, it can be best to just apologise. We won't all lynch you just for doing something we didn't like.

And if you have any trouble with anything, just ask for help.
If it's to do with the game, clearly post in the Help board. If it's to do with the Forums, then Off-Topic is the place for that.
