why not use stupid? again, my dad's not a pansy and as such isn't crying about it, but there are people who are extremely offended by it, so why not just use a word that doesn't carry meaning towards them? there's the logic involved.

people aren't going to think through every word of a sentence they're saying to sort out words that might have negative connotations to a minority of people. when i call someone a boy, i'm not going to choose to call them a male child instead because boy used to be a reference to black people.

APPARENTLY the white slave owners used to call the black male slaves by "boy", and APPARENTLY that's why calling eachother "man" (hey man etc) was such a big part of post slavery black culture
