ugh not this again.

terrain can be endless and smooth for vehicles for almost no performance cost. do that with bricks please.

interiors are pretty much useless tho besides like being a lego.

I agree that they can be endless, and that they are much more efficient for vehicles. But better vehicle physics have a strong possibility of being added after v21. About them being endless, I don't really see that ever being really put to use.

What do shadows add to gameplay? Bricks already exist.
And interrains aren't bound to the grid and can have "odd" shapes that aren't first turned into bricks.

Shadows like you said are just cosmetic, they make builds more appealing. It's true they won't add anything to gameplay, but it's a nice touch and can encourage people to build more. GSF is working on terrain bricks, no matter how bad the textures look, but will provide you your "odd shapes." But bricks can still provide a destructible environment, and can be evented to do all sorts of things.

endless = bigger world less bricks. save loading time and rendering power

I think day / night and shadows will enhance gameplay actually.

More realistic lighting can change the feel and use of builds. It can enhance DMs by tweaking the "atmosphere" of the build. If the shadows are really good, it might even allow for players to hide in dark spots etc.

Imagine if games like Terraria had no lighting system. How very much that would effect the game!

Blockland is slowly over taking Roblox's so called "better" features. Its knocked physics off the list thanks to v9, and now v21 is going to take care of lighting.

Okay, please remake the clock from the bedroom 1:1 with only bricks.

Except for that it can be disabled by the client. While DN can be, in a sense, be a good thing I think they should focus on adding more power to the modding tools instead of adding the features themselves (in this case, DN-cycle). The story about the fish and teaching the guy to fish.

Doesn't VCE have a function to get server time or something? If not it wouldn't be hard probably. Slap in some prints and job done.

Meh, lots of important aspects of a game can be disabled by clients.

I hope physics is a little better in v21 too. Some servers lag bomb with it.

is it bad that I never understood why interiors and terrains had to be excluded in order for shaders to be added

at first i was quite annoyed about v21,
but like most im looking forward to it c:

i'm soooo looking forward to this update

you dont think vehicles will be greatly updated once the broken stuff is removed from the engine?
this paves the way for proper vehicle updates. the new stuff wont be buggy and stuck on odd inclines that current broken ass planes and cars do.

and how much space do you need to fly/drive around anyway? we can already build massive brick worlds far beyond vehicle needs. i mean do you really drive straight for 2 hours looping the map? wtf is wrong with you

This update will come whether you like it or not.
Personally, I'm really excited for it :D

I meant with the shape and all.

Physics have always been client-sided. For example you don't collide with physbricks. So don't rely on them either for your TDM challenge.

There is more to Blockland physics then collision.

When are people going to learn this isn't possible?
