Author Topic: Furries - these aren't the cats you're looking for.  (Read 1709 times)

Okay buddy, you think you know furries? Well, maybe you do.
So, where to start? There's a lot to go over, so after this I'll probably end up adding some more information later. Maybe I should start with clearing up any stereotypes you might have. Not to say they're all wrong.

Furries aren't all obsessed with love. Some aren't even old enough to interject. That's rare though. Most of them are no different than you in that sense. It's just what they're attracted to that separates them from you. That said, not even all of them have a loveual interest in furries at all. Some just think they're cute and adorable and like the community. That's less rare, but still uncommon. Not all of them are into fursuits either. Out of the ones that are, few are interested in loving in them. Supposedly, most furries are gay or biloveual. This isn't true. I'd say it's about half, or less even. Perhaps the ones that are just tend to be more flamboyant? Most importantly, if you ask me, is that liking real bestiality is very rare. Furries having love is not bestiality. I can understand that there are similarities, and it would be easy to see it that way. But please don't.
That's all I can think of. If you think of something, feel free to mention it.

Just some general stuff:

A "fursona" is a furry's (that is, a member of the fandom's) character they use for roleplaying, art, or just because they feel like having one. Some people have more than one. That's understandable if it's just for roleplay, but otherwise... it's not something I care for. Anthropomorphic animals, usually abbreviated as "anthro(s)" or as I said before, furry/furries," are animals with some characteristics of humans. Or vice versa. It's the same thing either way. Not necessarily existing animals. They could be dragons, things like that. (Reptiles are sometimes labeled as "scalies")

For now that's all I can add. If you have any questions, ask. It would be my pleasure to answer them.
Also feel free to mention that you're a furry, if you are and are willing to let people know. Maybe I will make a list of those of us here. Let me know what species your fursona is, too. If you have one that is.

ALSO, I am not the epitome of furry knowledge. Neither is Alyx Vance, who contributed. If there's anything I can't answer, I wont just make up something. I'll ask someone more likely to know, somewhere.

why the hell is this a thread?

uh is it common furries plow my pet cat? My neighbor usually tries to plow my cat and he is a furry, it is really getting annoying.

Hopefully people will actually read rather than ranting the moment they hear the word.

Lets please not start that a second time. Can't we just have a fandom thread like the bronies do?

no.  it's hard enough keeping the brony situation under control.  this forum is predominantly anti-furry.  the admin is anti-furry.  you are really unwelcomed here.  go to deviantart.
