As the title says, the image dimensions go by 16.

For image comparison here you go:


From the bottom right corner to the black outline is the exact dimension size. How many pixels in each dimension is the dimension size squared.

So 16 would be 16², or in simple terms, 32. (16a = 32. a = 16)
