Author Topic: Horror films.  (Read 1425 times)

Hey guys, so I've been hanging out with a couple girls recently who are pretty into horror movies. I don't necessarily mean slash gash films, but more rather ones that forget with your head or make you jump. Now, one of them in particular I've been seeing, and she likes the films that she can cuddle up to me and watch. In the last 2 weeks we've watched;

Paranormal Activity 1-3 (I thought they sucked, but she liked em)
Quarantine 1 & 2 (I love zombie films, and these were loving awesome)
Drag me to Hell (hands down one of the worst movies I've ever seen)
Scream 1-4 (meh)
Blair Witch Project (I actually fell asleep, but she enjoyed it)
Let the Right One In (I don't really remember much, but I do know I jumped a few times)

So yea. I guess this thread is a request for some films to watch. And like i said in the first few lines, doesn't particularily have to be a slasher, I'd prefer a mindforget or a zombie movie.

Cheers :)

I watched The Amityville Horror (1979) yesterday, was pretty alright.

You should also try Night of the Living Dead.

Amityville Horror ALWAYS scares girls.  It's awesome.

Also that one with the devil and the elevator was good.

But if you want a mindforget scary scary loving thing, watch MarbleHornets with her.

The only things that ever scare me are POV and psychologically creepy films.  So Quarantine and MarbleHornets actually scare me.  I almost laughed at amityville horror.

lolnope

The blair witch project was horrible lol, the only thing that really gets me is the human centipede and only because it makes me feel flat out sick and disgusted.

It is scary that people find paranormal activity scary,
or ever... WATCHABLE!!!

If you watch Cloverfield, I think you'll be scared of the fact that someone can make such a bad movie.

Night of the living dead is one of my favorite films

Also, I forgot to put down Insidious, it's a loving sweet movie. It scares the hell out of me every time I see it, and I've got no clue why.

Haha, well, I want to actually enjoy the film too lol. And yea, quarantine is an awesome movie. Both of em.

Seriously when I watched MarbleHornets I would sit in my room staring at my wall for like two and a half hours because I was afraid that if I turned around Slenderman would steal me and turn me into one of his goons.

It is scary as forget, but it's amazing.

Alright I'm going to stop you right there, because now you appear to be apart of the large majority of human beings that has never heard of B-movies and horror comedys. I bet you thought Piranha 3D and The Evil Dead were bad too.

On the other hand, The Descent was a good indi-horror film. Trick 'R Treat wasn't very scary but was good but since you don't get horror comedy you wound't like that either. (Also Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is another good horror comedy)

Alien is good. Oh and the Shining

Mainstream horror has been really bad lately and I'd recommend staying away from it
Edit: The Crazies(New one) and The Fly('86)

No no, haha. I thought it was a horrible movie because of the scene where the old lady is in the car and she hits the dash, her teeth fly out, and then she starts gnawing on the womans face without dentures in her mouth. I couldn't help but crack up during that part.

Piranha was a decent movie, only downside was the amount of unnecessary gore. I'm not a huge fan of pure gore films. Though the amount of tits in it was pretty satisfactory.

And it's not that I don't like comedic horror, it's just a fact of when I sit down to watch a horror movie, I don't want to crack up, I want to have my nails digging into the seat and damn near stuff my pants. Otherwise it's just a comedy film to me.

Well if you cracked up, the movie did it's job

Carrie (1976) is a good one too.

Piranha was TERRIBLE. The forget are you talking about?
OT: Devil, the Woman In Black, and Piranha are probably the worst horror movies I've ever seen.
