Author Topic: Bethesda canceled interplay's fallout online.  (Read 1174 times)

Did you guys hear about this? I just recently heard it. Bethesda canceled interplay's (the original fallout creators) fallout online. I don't see why bethesda has to be so loving greedy on this issue. They gave development hell for that title for years.

FFFFFFF.
I wanted to play that so badly, it was looking really good too.

Sources?

My only sources are official forums and I can't post them because that would be forum advertising.

I've only heard they went to court over license rights or some sort, but nothing about cancellation.

That rule hardly rakes in any bans so I don't see a problem.

Something about if Interplay did not have enough money or enough development progress then bethesda would claim all rights. It seems as if after they claimed all rights they decided to pull the plug on the entire project,.

This also further proves that Fallout 4 may not have the Obsidian staff working on it, unlike New Vegas. Fallout 3 was great but it wasn't a true sequel.

What? Really? That's sad, it looked like it was going to be great.

On April 15, 2009, it was announced that Bethesda Softworks moved to rescind the Fallout MMORPG license. Interplay received notice from Bethesda that it intends to terminate the trademark license agreement, claiming that Interplay is in breach of the agreement for failure to commence full scale development by April 4, 2009 and to secure certain funding for the game. Interplay disputes these claims.[9]

On July 15, 2009 Interplay's Project V13 developer Chris Taylor posted a reply on the Interplay website "Project V13" Forum thread refuting the claims that Interplay lost the rights to the Fallout MMORPG.

On September 8, 2009 Bethesda filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Interplay in the Maryland District Court.[10]

On December 10, 2009 the Maryland District Court decided to deny Bethesda's request for preliminary injunction. Interplay is therefore able to continue development on the project until the case is finished.[11]

On January 10, 2012 The Fallout® mmo rights were restored to Bethesda Softworks® in Interplay litigation and with that the end of Project V13.

lol you all act mad. but it would have been monthly subscription. so you would all hate it anyways cuz you are all stupid

Or because it would be dwarfed instantly by every other MMO.  I don't think Bethesda could pull off an MMO.

I think you're taking a rule too seriously, you'd be posting it to show where you heard this news from, yes? That should be fine, linking to a news site isn't advertising that news site is it? No, so i don't see why forums would be a problem, especially since you're not saying "HAY GUISE CHEK OUT DIS MESSEG BORD AND SIGN UP!!!"

For stuff I do that isn't bannable there is always at least 5 people reporting me for it.

Since when was forum advertising bannable?

Isn't like half the game section linked to some sort of forum?
