My bike project that I've been working on the past few days

What does Blockland forums think?

Steel frame, needs to be cleaned.

The bike is an Empire Professional from 1974, so it's about 38 years old. Quite alot older than me.

Replacements:

• Custom handlebar setup, this came with it when it was donated, I'm going to swap it eventually
• Shimano reworked Caliper breaks
• Schwinn custom saddle (WILL be replaced with a Brooks. Eventually.)
• Extended saddle post with suspension spring (useless but w/e)
• modified rear derailleur for better spring tension
• Custom brake levers - Again, came with it, but they're good quality.

The whole bike weighs less than about 14-15 LBS, it's fantastic.

What do you think :D

Very. Just returned from a local supermaket to look for tires for my Gitane, I was commuting with local traffic and I was keeping up with the cars. A motorcyclist looked at me funny while I passed him. I am now quite worried, I may need a speedometer for the bike.

It was donated to me, the man was going to throw it away but because he new my fascination with older cycles, he gave it to me. He grew up using this bike, was quite proud to see me riding it today

90% of road cycles are like this aside from the handlebars. If you're fond with MTBs these bikes can be wobbly at first but you will notice the speed and efficiency difference VERY quickly

It's quite simple really, the only danger is when your hands are on the drop-down part of the bars, in order to break you need to grasp the bullhorns, which in turn can cost you some wobbles and POSSIBLY a wipeout.

I had a classic low rider bicycle once.
Too bad I had to sell it.

But, my dad and I painted a really old bike a dark green, with white stripes.
We're going to put a small motor on it and watch it fly.

That's a lovey bike, too.

Schrader, they're old. My NEXT had Prestas, and I'm going to fit them on my old Gitane Grand Sport Deluxe

Yup, it's a bike alright.



I could tell that it was older, but I don't see what makes it all that great. I'm not a biker person, however, so my opinion doesn't even matter.

What do you guys think? "Messenger" handlebars, or Cowhorn handle bars, that I built myself.

niga mine was red and had hella clutch handlebars and i would roll down the street in that stuff and all those other nigas would be all "oh snap that nigas so clutch".

was really fun to make though, wouldn't mind doing it again if I had the time.
